On 30 June 1908 a mysterious fireball exploded in the Siberian sky and flattened 2,000 square kilometres of the remote Tunguska forest. As no crater and no material from outer space were ever found, a meteorite could not have caused the Tunguska explosion. So what did? This 'grand dame of science mysteries' soon turns 100 but continues to seduce scientists and charlatans alike, all hoping to explain what caused the explosion. The scientists' suspects include a comet, an asteroid, a mini black hole, a rock of antimatter, a mirror matter asteroid, and a methane gas blast from below. X-files-type explanations include an alien spacecraft, a laser beam fired by extraterrestrials in an attempt to communicate with the earthlings, and an early experiment in nuclear physics which got out of hand. Numerous websites, conspiracy theories and sensational TV documentaries on the Fireball abound. In a fast-moving and non-technical narrative The Tunguska Fireball discusses all theories and then analyses the evidence to point an accusing finger at a prime suspect.

This expanded edition features newly uncovered information regarding Carole Lomard's bond-selling appearance in Indianapolis, the 2014 discovery of a plane crash victim's body at the Carole Lombard crash site, and an additional 16 pages of photographs. Taking a fresh look at Hollywood's "Queen of Screwball," this book presents a first-ever examination of the events that led to the shocking flight mishap that took her life on the side of a Nevada mountain in 1942. It also provides a day-by-day account of the struggles of Lombard's husband, Clark Gable, and other family, friends, and fans to cope with the tragedy. In effect, having just completed the first sale of war bonds and stamps in the nation following its entry into World War II, Lombard became the first Hollywood start to sacrifice her life in the War. The War Department offered Gable a funeral service with full military honors, but he refused it, knowing that his wife would not approve of such spectacle. Based on extensive research rather than gossip, this investigation further explores the lives of the 21 others on the plane, including 15 members of the U.S. Army Air Corps, and addresses one of the most enduring mysteries of World

Fireball in the whirlwind is based on a UFO caught on tape, as photo- graphed by Perry Yancey, and written by Arnold Yancey. Caught on the video recorded tape august 19th, 1997, in Oberlin, Ohio. The pictures contained in this book are not forged and are original. The Yancey family has seen paranormal activity at their country home for years. The family first noticed the lights over the countryside in the early 60s. The objects became commonplace around the area, often being spotted over top the woods, or inside the wooded area of our farm. The objects would appear day or night, but mostly at dawn, as we would watch from our garage some nights as if it was a show and at times ignoring the events if we had important things to do. Thats how common it was. Always in the northeast part of the sky as they would move in strange an erratic patterns defying normal behavior of anything made by man. Moving across the sky as if moving towards lake Erie, or moving onward through darkness displaying different colors and size. Lord, only the knows what those things are floatn around here, as Mama would say. And
