Ratch ist 16 Jahre alt und lebt im 18. Jahrhundert.

The first thing that comes into mind is how many “First Times” do we have in our life? I am looking for a solution which would bring people into a state of mind where they would feel that their life is a continuous first time. To be able to think out-of-the-box is to be able to see yourself as if you are not yourself. Our ego is not something different from us. It is the sum of what we are. There is a question whether or not the quality of a human being should be attributed to the ego or to something else. We fear change because usually changes are for the worst and not for the better. Time is the ability life has given us so that we can materialize our thoughts into a sequence which brings forth a result. What will be the status quo for the children in the years to come? Everything evolves on this planet, but the only entity that evolves at a different rate than the rest of nature is man. It is up to us to start making waves, to find the pebble within us and throw it into the pond.
Costs Associated with First-Time Homelessness for Families and Individuals

Examines costs associated with the use of homeless and mainstream service delivery systems by families and individuals experiencing homelessness for the first time in six study communities. Assigning costs to public programs is a first step toward developing measures of the value of public interventions compared to the public costs incurred by ignoring or avoiding the problems those interventions are intended to address. The study finds that the experience of homelessness is diverse and the associated costs vary tremendously depending on the pattern of homelessness and family or individual status. It is not, however, a study of either cost-effectiveness or quality of care, but rather a calculation of costs associated with homelessness. Illustrations.

Lexi did not want to move and nothing is going to make her happy about it. Except maybe that cute guy on the bus. It's 1983 and Lexi has more than gotten over her parent's divorce. Having to move to New Jersey, however, is simply unacceptable. Lexi plans to go back to Brooklyn and stay with her dad, every weekend, whether her mom likes it or not. How else is Lexi going to see her friends? She never imagined she’d change her mind. But then she saw Jack. Jack knows he was born to share his music, and his voice, with the world. His parents and teachers don’t see it that way. And it’s not just them. Everyone in town it seems, knows Jack as the one who doesn’t measure up, to his brother’s perfect academic record, that is. Then he sees the new girl on the bus and realizes she doesn’t know anything about that. And maybe, just maybe, when she finds out, she won’t care. Jack and Lexi quickly become a couple. Then they become a team. Determined to make a life for themselves, on their own terms, they’ll do whatever it takes to make their dreams come

A distinctive debut novel by a mature new voice sheds light on a previously neglected aspect of war, its casualties and victims, and those forces unleashed by a conflict that changed the world forever It's 1943 and Jack Devine, a farmer's son from the rural North of Scotland, is finally called up to the RAF. Jack dreams of becoming a pilot, breaking hearts, and returning home a hero. The realities of training are very different, with boredom, bullying, and casual violence the norm. Drawn together by a love of jazz music, Jack makes friends with Terry, a worldly Welshman dabbling in the black market; Joe, a fellow Scot and aggressive anti-fascist; and the public school educated Clive. The group form a jazz band to surprising acclaim and for a while an alternative future to that preordained for each seems possible. But the initial camaraderie soon gives way to simmering resentment as age-old tensions resurface. When one of the four dies in a suspicious flying accident, another in the group is suspected of murder. Jack must not only navigate the demands of pilot training, an errant girlfriend, constant redeployments, and a bloody war that is getting ever nearer, but also the
